New Cowls from LowlaBug

I am excited about theses. I am going to start releasing them over the next couple of weeks. This is the first one. I love them because I wear them as a head band as well as a cowl. I also find that you can wear two at a time and be warmer as well as fashionable.

I am putting up some photos of things to be released this week so keep your eyes peeled.

Introducing Coffee Cuffs by LowlaBug

I am excited to introduced my newest addition Coffee Cuffs. I am having fun taking things that I use and providing them for other people. I have been looking for a product in the $5-$8 range and I think this is the perfect first step.

I am debating rubberizing them on the inside

Go forth, check them out.

To Craft or Not to Craft: The Art of Prioritizing

Today I am rambling about the art of prioritizing in your crafting world.

So about 3 months ago I was sitting with my dear friend Sara having lunch and she said those magic words "Why don't you think about selling your accessories full-time" and then everything clicked. The voice in the back of my head said "Yes. Now. Go. Do." And I was off. I bought books, created more business cards and other marketing materials. I started crafting my little fingers off. So now I have a larger stock. I show about 1/3 of my stock on Etsy.com and the rest I save for Craft Fairs. (Which reminds me, it's about that time.)

So, in knitting my fingers to the bone I discovered that there are not enough hours in the day. I love to knit. I love to craft more then many things, including cleaning my closet. Reorganizing my work space. Packing for my Honeymoon (18 days til the Wedding and 19 days til Ireland!)

So now I find myself in need of making a schedule just to make sure that everything gets done. Crazy. I now see how this will become a full time job.

Tip: VistaPrint.com I LOVE them like no woman with a credit card should. Honestly though, they are fantastic. Just make sure that you don't pay for anything, they have to many sales. Just pay shipping and handling. If it is not on sale now wait a week.

Etsy Showcases: Good, Bad or Ugly

So yesterday I had a Showcase spot on Etsy.com in the Knitting Category. It went well. I think.

I had over 100 people visit my site and look at these two items highlighted through out the day Light Green Scarflet with Wooden Buttons and my Country Blue Scarflet. So when I check Google Analytics this morning I was jazzed. Over a hundred people AWESOME, but is it so awesome. What do I really kn0w?

I know that they are eye catching. I know that people heart them, thank you Heartometer.

That's great, but no one bought anything. So was it worth the $7 to list? Does that mean that my item cost now increased by $7 and I am making less money...

These are the things I ask myself.

What do you think?

Welcome!

So you have ventured to my Blog. I want to tell you that this blog is the best blog. That it will open your mind to a whole new way of experiencing life. That through reading this blog you will find out the hidden meanings in the daises. I can not tell you any of these things. I am starting this blog to document how one goes from have a hobby to a full-time Craftastic Career.

My only hope is that someone else who is dreaming of opening their own shop can look upon this blog and say

"Thank God I am not the only person who checks their Google Analytic every 15mins."
(I currently have 57 hits for the day and I have one Etsy Showcase up, in case you were wondering.)

or

"Wow, glad I didn't waste $50 on that."

or even

"That was really helpful, I am going to try that one out next time."

My quest to go from 3 sales on Etsy to full time Job starts today. I think it's going to be fun.

Wish me luck,

-LB
